,9commentsEDTShareTweetShareShareWhich 2019 NFL Draft prospects are visiting with the Jets?Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY SportsThe final phase of the evaluation process before the NFL Draft is the team visit phase. Teams are allowed to bring up to 30 prospects who do not have local ties to their facilities to get to know potential selections better. The Jets do not officially confirm any of these visits, but word gets out on many of them. Part of the agent’s job is to make it sound like his client is in demand. Here are the players who have reported visits with the Jets so this year. This list will likely expand. As always, moderate your responses to the news the Jets are meeting with any of these prospects. If the Jets are using a visit on any of these players there is at least cursory interest. But it isn’t a guarantee the team will pick any of these prospects. These visits are part of the evaluation process. The team might not like what they have to see.Additionally, a prospect not visiting doesn’t necessarily reflect a lack of interest from the Jets. They might have interviewed said player at the Senior Bowl and/or Combine and feel like they got all of the information they need to know. With that said, here are the prospects we know about so far.Josh Allen, EDGE, KentuckyRashan Gary
, DL, MichiganEd Oliver, DL, Houston“Well Dressed” Amani Oruwariye, CB, Penn StateErik McCoy, C
, Texas A&MLinkYodny Cajuste, T, West VirginiaUgo Amadi, DB, OregonShareef Miller, EDGE, Penn StateAlbert Huggins
, DL, Clemson Teddy Bridgewater made a free agent decision a year ago. It didn’t work out. Now, he gets a second chance.“Who knows how it will all play out?” Bridgewater said Monday, via Luke Johnson of the . “I’m just taking it one day at a time and trying to swallow what happened yesterday. . . .That’s something that stings for a while. Whatever happens in the future, it’ll just happen.”The Saints backup quarterback becomes a free agent again this offseason. He signed a one-year, prove-it deal with the Jets last offseason, expecting to be the team’s starting quarterback. But the Jets drafted Sam Darnold in the first round and dealt Bridgewater to the Saints. Bridgewater played only 71 snaps in 2019
, with 52 coming in a Week 17 start.Bridgewater, 26, could return to the Saints hoping to replace Drew Brees in the future. But Brees already has announced his return for 2019. It’s more likely Bridgewater will get more money and a chance to start immediately somewhere else. He looks to rank as one of the top available free agents at his position.“I definitely feel like I’ve overcome some major hurdles to get back to where I want to be in my career,” Bridgewater, a former first-round pick of the Vikings, said. “I have some time this offseason to reflect on things and think about life going forward.”
